Overview
Fiat 500, one of the most expensive hatchbacks was launched in India in 2008 July. This lifestyle model is a two door coupe and will be imported to India as a completely built unit. Also known as Fiat Cinquecento in Italy is created by Fiat Style Centre. The car it’s made is debut in India over a year after it was introduced in the European market. This dashing model is 500 is powered by a 1.3L turbo-charged engine churning out 75bhp.
Fiat is riding a wave of enthusiasm among the Indians with its stylish and amazing and sharp features. It flaunts itself with a classic compact design, luxurious interiors, and faultless performance. It is the combination of the best of old clubbed with latest technologies without losing the original charm. It is available in two variants Fiat Sport and Fiat Lounge.
Powertrain & Performance
Fiat 500 is propelled by 1.3L turbo-charged engine delivering 75bhp. The in-line arrangement of 4 cylinders is positioned in the front giving a spacious boot. The car performance boosts up with the electronically controlled Common Rail Multi-jet Direct Injection fuel that offers power from every drop of fuel.
The car also enhanced with good independent suspension in the front and interconnected shocks in the rear. The braking is also good presenting anti-lock braking system with electronic brake distribution. With the five-speed manual, Fiat 500 from the small car segment accelerates from 0-100km/h in just 12.5 seconds at the top speed of 165 km/h.
Fiat re-entered India as strong brand and introduced new models with new engine and styling with performance. The exterior design gives a sporty look compact body shell. The circular trendy headlamps and the trademark chrome whisker and the logo gives it a classy look. The rear is enhanced with chrome finish large tailgate, large tail lamps, an integrated roof spoiler and also an additional stop light. Rides on 15 inch alloy wheel giving cool and sporty look to the car.
The interior also boasts of its classic attributes with combination of latest technology clubbed with conservative designs. The leather upholstery and well organized dash with round dials and buttons adds to its beauty. Leather wrapped electric dual drive power steering is contemporary version of the classic 500 steering. The chrome plated gear shift hooked on to the dash is not only unique but also saves space.
One of the interesting feature that 500 carries is the “Blue & Me” controls – automobile software which was introduced by Fiat and Microsoft to resolve the issues of in–car communication, infotainment and entertainment and is compatible with a range of Bluetooth equipped devices.
Fiat 500 does not compromise with safety either and ensures a number of active safety features like ABS with electronic brake distribution, air bags, dual stage driver and passenger airbags and fire prevention system. It is the first car in its class to up to 7 airbags.

The suspension system is combined with gas filled shock absorbers that makes the dynamic i20 an optimum car for Indian road conditions. In addition, the modern and advanced motor driven power steering adds to the overall driving experience and results in effortless city driving

The new Hyundai i20 delivers a contemporary and elegant look with its slim chrome finished grille flanked by large air dams, piercing teardrop headlamps, creases on bonnet, and vertical tailgate. The astounding space under the tailgate provides ample space for luggage storage. In addition, striking and prominent lines mated with sculpted panels accentuate the modern and unique look of the car. The new exterior feature present in the car is the ORVM turn indicators. The i20 is available in a rainbow of 7 vibrant colours.
The interior of the Hyundai i20 is accentuated with new blue LED interior illumination, large cabin space ornamented with silver finish on Centre fascia and AC vents which gives an elegant look for the car. Designed with precision and an elegant layout, the interior of the car boasts of excellent drive comfort. Amongst the many features included in the i20 are chrome finish inside door locks and passenger vanity mirrors. The well-packaged interiors of the car include AC/heating, 60/40 split folding rear seats, tilt and telescopic steering, 2 DIN CD along with an MP3 music system, dual tone beige interiors, refrigerated glove box, a multi information display, and tachometer as standard equipment. The top-end variant of the new i20 comes with fully automatic A/C, leather wrapped steering wheel and TGS knob, alloy wheels, steering mounted audio control (a first for this segment), foldable key with keyless entry function, height-adjustable driver seat, and electrically foldable outside mirrors. Sunroof will be an optional feature for Asta (O) diesel and petrol.
Hyundai, in all its models, have offered exceptionally high levels of car safety features to ensure safety of drivers as well as car passengers. The Hyundai i20 is also equipped with similar advanced safety technologies such as anti-lock brakes (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), airbags, and engine immobilizer. This is the first compact car in the Indian car market that is equipped with six airbags for improved safety of its driver and passengers. In Asta (O) diesel, features such as 6 air bags are optional.

Equipped with a choice of four engines, two petrol and two diesel, it is available in five petrol variants and five diesel variants.
The Hyundai new Verna comes with two petrol engines, 1.4 VTVT (variable timing valve train technology) that generates a power of 105.5 bhp@ 6300 rpm and a torque of 135.3 Nm @5000 rpm, while the 1.6 VTVT churns out a power of 121.3 bhp@ 6300rpm and a torque of 154.9 Nm @4200 rpm. The diesel 1.4 litre CRDi VGT (Variable Geometry Turbocharger) engine generates a power of 88.7 bhp@ 4000 rpm and a torque of 219.9 Nm@1750-2750 rpm, while the 1.6 CRDi VGT engine pumps out a max power of 126.3 bhp @ 4000 rpm and a torque of 259.8 Nm@1900-2750 rpm. Compliant to Euro V emission norms, the engine provides unmatched performance and outstanding fuel efficiency.
Both the petrol engines are equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission, while the diesel engines are mated to 6-speed manual transmissions. However, the top end petrol and diesel variants of the Verna are available with an option of 4-speed automatic transmission. The MacPherson strut suspension paired with coil springs and couple torision beam axle, constitues the front and rear suspensions of the gas type shock absorbers fitted in the car that help improve performance, drivability, and handling. This also offers greater stability and improved traction. In addition, the power assisted rack and pinion steering adds more joy and thrill to the driving experience.
